I retired my old iPod buds, and I'm currently looking for a set of full size headphones (no buds or in-ears) for my iPod. I am currently using my friend's Sony MDR V250's, they sound great to me, but I can't get over the black headphones + white iPod; especially since I have a white Macbook which I take everywhere along with me. Does anyone know of any white (especially the chord) heaphones that sound decent and are affordable?

Why white? Price? I'd say get the AKG 81DJ for $69. Its not white but it doesn't look that bad.

Considering white headphones are like a "please mug me" sign I find this kind of hilarious. On the flip side at least you don't have the permanent problem of having a black ipod and use a white transfer cable and other accessories.

Sennheiser PX100s (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-PX-100-Headphones-White/dp/B0009WA01I) come in white, and they are one of the best sounding headphones in their price range. Also the not very good sounding PX200 is available in white, but despite it being more expensive I can't recommend it. The AKGs mentioned before are better sounding than both (and considerably more expensive), but I think they come in only black (where they are known as K518) and silver/black (K81DJ).

I would say go with the Senns regardless of their color - they are my main portable headphone.

Uhh huh... may want to get your ears check then. I've never heard anyone talk bad about them. I'd rather them then 100s and leaking sound all over too.

The 200s are well known for their patchy sound, depending upon your ability to get a decent seal. The sound lacks highs and lows, and is generally recessed, lacking in detail and unpleasant, especially compared with the PX100s. Lots of threads at Headfi about these phones which would agree with my opinion - heres one (http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=204009&highlight=px200).

And yes I do have a pair in their PX250 form, and hate them so much that I don't even bother listing them in my signature, so I have my own direct comparison between the PX100s and PX200s. If you need isolation then the AKGs are the way to go, and not the Senns - unless white color is the deciding factor of course.

Send them my way then, I'll make good use of them. :)

Yes, lets mug the OP. You can have the ipod and his/her new phones, I'll take the macbook. You provide the transportation to bumble weeds canada, I'll provide us with the apple gear.

White is so overrated. Plus is sucks keeping it all clean.

Thanks for all your help, but I think I've found a pair. The AKG K 27i

They are definitely white, but the sound is meant to be too bassy and muddled from what I have read about them. They don't generally get good reviews, but I will admit I haven't tried them for myself...

I'm not an expert or anything, but I've heard good things about the Icemat Siberia Headphones and personally think they sound pretty good. I like how they look and think that they are really comfortable. I have the black ones which I use for the PC, so I don't know how they will sound on an iPod since I don't have one. I've seen them after rebate for 10-20 bucks, but they usually retail for around 50-70. The cord coming off the headset is about 3 feet long, but the extension cord with an in-line volume control is SUPER long at I think about 6 feet. You may need to get a shorter white extension cable that isn't as long if you don't want all the cable with you. Hope this helps....

P.S. This is what they look like.

although i see you've set your sights on the K27i, here's another AKG can with the ubiquitious white -- the AKG K530:

LOL the trifecta of white AKG cans

question is, if he is using em for portable use. the K701s aren't the most portable (hell, they're far from portable). i still love em but i'll never commute with them; isolation is less than nothing (that's to be expected -- they're open cans)

i'd like to find the K530s myself. so far no North American supplier carrys them.

It was the best answer, so the rest of us are just busy dividing up his stuff. I'll take the Macbook BTW. hehe.

If you ask me white is a bit Feminine for a guy.

Aren't the K530 the K301 just in a different casing? Worth a try however. I'll get around to it one day.
