My computer is infected with some serious adware. I need to reboot it and reinstall everything, how can i back up my library?

Welcome. You can use an external HD or CD's or DVD's but the external would be the easiest and quickest. You can also use your iPod as an external HD. If your music is on your iPod then you can transfer it back to the computer after your done. See #8 here for software:

Thats a really serious solution to a simple problem. Why not just get a ad-ware removal program and anti ad-ware program to prevent the problem again in the future?

But if you need to back up your library, then use a program to back up to DVD disks. Many, many fewer disks wil be used than if backing up to CD's.

If you didn't already, try the following:
Ad-aware
Spybot
A-squared

They are all free and can really help you clean your computer. Don't forget to update all of them to the current patch and you might need to run them in safe mode to get past some of the adware.

Yes I agree. If it's just adware, it's not that big a deal. A trojan is different if you cannot remove it.

You can also use some of the tools found here. I would run various scans, as some pick up more or other spyware & adware that the others don't.
