I'd be very grateful if someone could help me.

My daughter has an iPod with her tunes being stored on a desktop PC at home. She needs to change where her tunes are stored to be her laptop (she has just gone to University). Her songs are obviously on the iPod but I'd be grateful if someone could help me with the steps to make her laptop the new 'home' computer. She's clearly trying to avoid re-loading all of her music over again.

Many thanks

Check out this thread in the iTunes (PC + MAC) forum.

Would the technique described work also for moving the location between from one PC to another? Will the iPod recognise the new PC location of the files? Obviously if it does work the PCs would need to be networked together for the operation to succeed.

Thanks

The link provided gives good advice on moving the music files but it also states:

When you are finished, delete the MUSIC FILES from your old Music Library folder (Manually). Stay away from the "iTunes" folder-- it needs to stay

I'm trying to transfer the files onto my daughter's PC partly as I need to re-format the PC's hard drive. I can't therefore leave the iTunes folder on this PC. Is it possible to move the iTunes folder to my daughter's PC along with the tunes?
