I accidentally dropped my nano gen2 earphones into milk as I was eating, I pulled them out as soon as possible. However I can notice that the sound quality is much worse and that it doesn't sound very loud at all. Now my question is will they return to normal after a while, milk is different to water i know but has anyone had this problem before... :o
I really don't wanna blow $70AUD on a new pair of damn earphones.

uh file a report with apple and say they quit working and theyll send you new ones
drop them in water and see if it works?/gets rid of milk. ;)
sorry i was of no help. :(
Not sure if you want to drop it in water to "rinse" the milk out...but if you do, try to get it dry as quickly as possible. Get all the water out...shake it out if you have to and then try to dry it with a blow dryer.

You could get better headphones, look around on the forums their's a lot of good suggestions. most earphones sound better then the stock ones that come with the iPod.

I left the earphones in a dry sunny place for few hours and its actually dryed out and sounds as good as before. This was a first, after braking my ipod nano gen1(105kg fell on it at gym) and its earphones falling appart.

Suggesting fraud on an open forum is not a good thing.

I wouldnt call it fraud. Asking apple to send you a pair of $5 earphones which are under iPod warrantee isnt fraud. Fraud is breaking your beaten up iPod on purpose and then asking for a new clean one.

Read what the poster suggested. Telling apple the ear buds didn't work, when in fact they did work. The carelessness of the original poster dropping them in milk is what caused the damage.
So if you tell apple they did not work when in fact they did work before you dropped them in milk is suggesting the original poster should commit fraud.
If you don't want to commit or call it fraud, then call apple and tell them you dropped the buds in your milk to see what they say.

1. deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.
This pretty much describes what was suggested to the original poster, fraud.

Whether it's $5 or $500 it's still warranty fraud, since Apple does not offer an "earphone replacement service" but rather provides a warranty against defects in the original manufacturing of the hardware.
Since Apple does not certify their earphones as being "milk-proof" they are not obligated to replace them under warranty if they are exposed to milk (or any other liquid, for that matter).
