Which iPod hacks are "must have"? I have a new 30 Gig model and would like to find a few things that make the iPod Experience better.

if you use Entourage then get iPod It 1.9 for the new ipods. It syncs everything, calendar, contacts, email, tasks, notes, ical shares, weather and news. Boy, what else do you need?!:D

Yes b/c Entourage is only on mac, similar to Outlook. You can find it at versiontracker.com.

This'd work better if you told us the kind of stuff you wanted your iPod to do; then we could reccomend software.

It was a general question related to the "top - most used" hacks.

Ah. Well, the one I use the most is the fact that the iPod is accessible as a disk from the Terminal. The "grep" and "cp" commands can be used to find and copy songs from the iPod. I made an AppleScript (http://www.malcolmadams.com/itunes/scripts/scripts08.shtml#impselipodtracks) based on these commands that lets me select songs on the iPod in iTunes and it will find and import them to my iTunes Library.

That is an excellent script! Thank you for providing it.

Using iLyric (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11878)'s iPod syncing and the information found in this pdf (http://developer.apple.com/hardware/ipod/ipodnotereader.pdf) I've embedded links to songs on the iPod so that when I select a lyric on my iPod it will start playing that song.

Pretty handy.
