I have a pair of headphones that sometime I use them with my iPod.
The headphones cover my whole ear is more confortabel than the iPod earphone, which go in to my ears. Now my question is that if I use the headphones with iPod all the time, wont the battery get drained faster since the headphone are not self-powered?

Thanks for the comments.

Well... Kinda.

It's the volume (power output) setting that impacts battery, not the type of headphones you use (directly).

That being said, you will usually use a higher volume setting on the iPod when using large headphones than if you were using tiny earbuds, because they are harder to drive (require more power per dB level).

So, in effect, you may use more power with the headphones than with earbuds, but only because you'll be using a higher volume setting to get the same real-world loudness.

So, the headphones themselves dont drain the juice, it's just that one has to use higher volume levels to compensate. It makes sense, since the earphone are practically inside your ear and the othe are not.

Thanks a lot bud. I appreciate the info.
