Sorry to go back to basics, but i'm getting a 20gb 3gen ipod for xmas. I've read how to get it to work on win98, however i don't have a firewire port, so i need it to work on usb. What exactly do i need, and how do i get started.

You can't. You'll have to buy a firewire card--98 doesn't support USB2. Not a big deal as the firewire cards are about as much as the Apple USB cable.
And you have to have 98SE. Make sure you do.

I've now just placed an order on apple's web page for a belkin pci firewire card, i'm running win98se. Should this work when it arrives??? I keep reading of all these problems, and i'm not half as good with gadgets and technology as any of the people on these forums.
