Apple logo..ipod dosent respond...

aaaah, please help me.. i just got my ipod today and i've been dreaming abt it for weeks.. i love this forum and how it helped me know more abt the ipod but..

my ipod has an apple logo on it and its drive is spinning. i cant get it to turn off or on. the computer dosent recognise it either.

i think it might be because i was impatient and only let it charge for abt half an hour. now its getting warm and is not responding and i dont know what to do...

i have a pc and usb 2.0 and my ipod's 40 gig.

Do a reset: press the menu + pause/play button, then at that Apple logo, press the FF and REW button until it says "OK to Disconnect". Then connect it to your PC. It should say "Do Not Disconnect" if your PC recognizes it.

Mine is doing the same thing................no button response but the hard drive is continously spinning.

Upon power up the apple logo appeared and never went away..............now totally locked up!
6 months old Gen3 30 Gig unit............

Any help appreciated
