Here's what I would like in an ipod FM transmitter:

* digital FM channel selection
* wide range--ideally full range--of possible FM channels to broadcast on
* dock connecting to 5G [isn't this better than headphone connecting?]
* car charger
* portable [ie, it can accompany the ipod and work with an inside stereo]
* powered by the car outlet instead of ipod when connected
* headphone-jack connector in addition to dock connector
* reasonably priced [ideally under 50 bucks]
* and, of course, good sound [I know, it won't be 'Aux' or 'direct connect' quality, I'm ok with that]

The Belkin TuneFM looks close to what I want; it runs off ipod battery or car battery, it comes with a car charger, and it's a dock connector. I assume/hope it will fit my Toughskin case.

However, I would also like to be able to use the FM transmitter, in the car, with other device's headphone jacks; either my computer or a portable DVD player. I think I saw one transmitter that had both dock connector and headphone connector, but I have no idea where, or if it was any good.

Is the Belkin Tunefm the closest to matching my requirements above, or is there a closer match, that gives me all the functionality I need?

thanks.

The Tune FM gives you everything but the "other device" capability.

That and the sound quality...maybe. I don't call mine "good". More like "acceptible", but it is FAR better than no tunes at all! And I have not heard a BETTER sounding transmitter. They are just limited.
