Hi Everybody,

This is my first time to post here.

My iPod plays fine in my car but it no longer charges while playing. I only noticed this yesterday as I had a 2 hour drive out. The ipod charges when its hooked up to my apple computer so I'm narrowing the culprit to the PXP02 connection. I'm connected to my Pioneer head unit via Pioneer PXP02 as shown here:

Compatibility and Notes:

1. The PXP02 is compatible with any Pioneer IP-BUS headunits with Auxiliary input option.--- see note below.
2. The PXP02 cable provides audio and charging. No control or radio display features.
3. The PXP02 cable is 4ft. long with an iPod dock connector on one end and Pioneer P-BUS connector on the other.
4. When the PXP02 is used, you cannot connect a Pioneer CD Changer to the head unit.

I would like to get some ideas as to why this happened because I just installed this a month ago and before this it was charging as it was meant to. The thing is its a major b*tch to check the wires in the back of the deck bec i gotta tear out the car's entire center console and right side front seat. I would like to avoid this because there might be a simpler solution out there... like a fuse problem or something... Tearing up the car (AGAIN) at this point may open up a new set of problems like static etc etc. (It happened before).

Thanks guys.

Sincerely,
~M

It's just a connection to the power lead of the adaptor. Sometimes T-taps come foost or don't bite the wire correctly. Just check that, because if you're getting audio, that eliminates the IP-Bus connection.

This happened with my SikImp; the T-tap came loose off of the second cig lighter adaptor I installed. Ipod stopped charging; audio was filled with engine whine also. A quick squeeze with a pair of needlenose fixed this quickly.

But yes, you'll have to get back there it seems.:(

yes you are correct. it did loosen up.luckily there's no major static EXCEPT when i blow the horn from time to time.i think this could be from the my battery getting weaker. the weird thing is i have a capacitor installed on the mono amp ONLY and theoretically that should help out the battery... anyway, im willing to live with this for now until such time the static completely fills the audio.
