HAH! I am so proud of myself!!!!

I hooked up an RCA cable to the AUX port on the back of my car stereo, and then ran it behind the dash, and out through a little removeable tab (my dash has 3 of them all right next to each other, I don't know what they are for, I guess after market switches or something) and now I can plug my iPod DIRECTLY into the car, instead of using an fm transmitter! the sound is GREAT!!!!

LOL you have no idea how happy this makes me. I am a very girly girl, and I'm not really good at stuff like this (I actually don't really care about car mods, but this was SOOOO worth it)

My car stereo wasnt the kind you can just jimmy out, I actually had to take the dash apart, so that makes me feel so much better!

YAY! I'm so excited! I can't wait to drive to work tomorrow and listen to my iPod :D:D

And if this has been posted on here so many times before, I'm sorry, but I am so excited.

This option on my car radio made my ipod a million times cooler for me. Ive never walked around with my ipod and head phones im allways in my car. Its so nice not having to throw around that giant cd book and change cd's all the time. People if you are using FM transmitters or havent done anything for you car, you can get a cheap car cd player that has an AUX connection, I've seen them as low as $130. It doesnt control the ipod but it sounds great and its easy!

And good job glamour! I have a very girly girlfriend and she wouldnt have gotten half way through that :P

This is the way that my ipod is hooked up also. I love it! When I bought the nano I thought that I was going to have to by a transmitter, but then I found out that even though my deck is a few years old it still had an aux imput. Yeah!

I bought a mount for mine which make it so much easier, I don't even have to look at the ipod to skip songs anymore.

I am a girly girl also, so my friends were amazed that I could take my whole dash apart and put it back together.

I only listen to it in the car and in my office at work so this made the ipod worth the money that I spent on it.

Good Job! Enjoy!:D

I was starting to get upset because I dont need to listen to the iPod at home, since my library is on the computer, and I felt like the iPod was going to waste. I was spending too much time and money on blank CDs to write my iTunes library to. I wanted the iPod in the car.

I need a mount for mine. It just sits on my passenger seat. (I'm thinking about getting felt or something and putting it on the little shelf under my stereo, so the iPod doesnt slosh around) The cable just comes up thru a tab. But there is a gaping (ok not GAPING persay, 1 inch long by 1/2 inch wide) hole with the cable just poking up thru.

I was thinking about drilling a hole (my dad actually doing the drilling) and putting it thru that way. But I don't know. If anyone has any ideas on how I can fill the hole, or a good way to mount it, lemme know. I can even take pics if my vague description of the little tab hole (:D) doesnt make any sense.

If you are using an RCA cable you can drill a hole where you want it, get what is called an RCA bulkhead adapter and install that in the hole that you just drilled. Plug your RCA cable from the back of the stereo into the backside of the bulkhead connector, then the ipod cable into the front of the connector. VOILA instant factory look. Just unplug when not in use.

We're PCSing in about 10 months, and I dont know if drilling a hole in it is such a good idea if we're potentially moving. I was thinking about covering the hole with that black tape stuff, but from the bottom, so it looks halfway decent.
