I have a 2002 Lincoln LS with the in dash factory 6 disc CD changer. I want something that will give me facotry quality sound and enable me to control the music through my ipod so I can easily switch playlists and find songs. Anybody have any suggestions?

Well I finally got a device installed. It is not one of the major brand names such as Pac, Ipod2Car, because those do not work with the Lincoln LS 6 Disc in dash changer. It has auxillary input in the back of the cd changer, then a connector that connects and charges the ipod. Songs are controlled through the ipod, but play through the car stereo. However, songs sound staticy regardless of whether or not they are played from my ipod or hers. However these same songs do not sound bad in my car. The place that installed it is saying that the difference is because she has an amplified system, the songs need to be at higher bit rates. Has anyone had a problem with songs sounding staticy (particularly when deep bass is playing) through their stereo system. I find it hard to believe that all of the songs on my ipod are at a low bit rate.

Have you gotten this to work yet? I have a 2001 Lincoln LS with a 6-disc in-dash and wondered what kind of project it would be for me to hard-wire it.

I'll stay tuned...

It works but wuality varies pending upon the song. It is a standard device, that only plays through the radio, and you control it on the iPod. Just a normal RF modulator in the back and a RCA plug that is also half an iPod charger. Should be available at Circuit City, atleast the first peice.

Hmmm...ok so it requires the typical FM mod and you're saying an RCA plug where the other half recharges is a separate piece?

Also, what type of connection is it to the back of the stereo, an RCA attachment? I've never been behind it so I'm leery. I also have XM Radio so I'd like for a way to split it off and hook both things up while I'm back there (FM modulation SUCKS). I have no problem controlling it from the iPod though.
