Can I have my i-Pod and software on my PC & Laptop??

Will it work?? Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, wasn't sure where to put it!!

I'm already using my i-Pod on my home PC and just wondered whether I can put it on my Laptop!! I have the necessary cable for using it on my laptop already.

I haven't done this, but I don't see why not. Just make sure that when you set up your software on your laptop and connect your iPod, you do NOT choose to erase the iPod contents!

i do it here at work for some stuff and there are some limitations. when you plug the ipod in a location 2 (WORK FOR ME) you get some message about the fact that this is already tied to another library and it asks you if you want it to be tied to this computer. if you say yes, it will erase all the contents of the ipod to sync from the library on your laptop, so i click no. then i change my ipod settings to manually manage my files, and then manually add them to my ipod. when you get home, you have to use podutil or something like that to get it off the ipod and on to your hard drive, and then add it to the library. the other option is just to use disc mode.

there may be a cleaner way to do it that I am not thinking about, but that seems to be the only way to make sure i get the fil from work to home. obviously if your library is identical on both computers it's much easier.
