I have a 62 Vette with the very desirable WONDERBAR radio.
I would like to add the iPOD and some speakers. This would stand alone seperate from the radio.
What do I need ??? Would an equalizer with line in and a pair of speakers do the trick? HELP Please....

An equalizer would not be your best solution, IMO. If you want to keep the classic look (I'm sure you do), I'd say your best bet is to mount a new headunit under the seat, in the glove box, or some other hidden place. Then install new speakers in the current holes and run new wires to the new headunit. You can tap into the new wires with the audio from the AM radio if you want it to still be usable. I could go on and on talking about how to hide the wires, splice into the speaker cables, etc., but you can either figure it out on your own, or take it to a shop that you trust.

I did not want to add a NEW head unit as I have no need for it. This is only for the music on the ipod. You are right that I hope to hide it. So the smaller the better. They have kick panel speakers.
Would an amp do what I want??

An amp is just designed to increase the loudness of the sound going into it. I guess you could wire up a small amp to take the audio from the iPod. I would suggest a Rockford Fosgate Punch 160.2 and a good pair of speakers (whatever will fit in your current speaker holes). You would still need a ground loop isolator and a good capacitor because the power from the alternator in a 62 vette is not going to be perfectly stable or whine-free.
