I just bought an Alpine IVA-W200 to use with my iPod. I love it. The only problem I have is when I am listening to a song within a particular playlist/artist/album and then want to select another song within that list. Is there a way to easily find a list of songs without starting the navigation process from the beginning? On an ipod you simply puch "menu" to go back to the list you original used to select a particular song (I'm sure you already know this). I can't figure out how to do with with the Alpine.

Thanks,

This would be great to know but I doubt it. The full speed connection is nice however, I feel that Alpine rushed the IVA-W200 to market. I have it as well. I'm hoping the 2007 model will have some improvements as I will update right away. I wish it had the Ipod looking features of the Pioneer avic-z1. If the 2007 doesn't make some nice changes I may end up with the pioneer unit

This is one of the drawbacks to the Alpine system. It always starts you back at the begining of the menu.

However you can use keys 1 thru 6 to navigate faster. Each button will forward you 1/6th of the way through your library.

The Alpine isn't perfect from a controller aspect, but so far I think its the best on the market....

What I would like to see is a manufacturer that offers and separate display that you can put closer to your field of view so you can keep your eyes on the road. That, along with a steering wheel, or column, mounted remote would be huge IMO....

I should say that I regard my Alpine 9857 as a temporary solution, though a nice one. I plan to use a Mac Mini as a carputer, but that may wait until sometime next year....
