sorry if this problem has been solved many times..i'm a newb to the boards..

well ..i received my blitzsafe Honda M link DMX V.1 Adapter 2 weeks ago.. took off the head panel and everything.. took out the radio.. to find out that there is no 14 female pin cd changer port for the 14 male pin connector to go into.. theres a plug for the power and a 20 pin plug for the cd changer.. nothing on the bottom, top, sides (i took off the plates).. fix everything back up.. totally forget about my radio code when i hook it back.. sets me back and i have to wait another few days and a weekend to get that code.. finally get it

back to the real problem.. i call blitzsafe.. spend an hour on the phone with them telling them that enfig car stereo didnt specify on their site that my accord model wasn't compatible with the adapter.. finally send them pictures ..they finally tell me that my accord model doesnt have the 14 female pin cd port (theres a panel thats covering nothing on the bottom left of the radio.. which i'm assuming is where the connector would go if it had one)

finally fed up so i just call enfig car stereo and ask for a RMA so i can return/get a refund.. tell the guy my problem and he just acts calmly saying "yeahhh.. we've had those complaints before.. some 02 accord models have them, some dont.. oh well.. just try ebay for a radio" .. .. so if you receive those complaints.. why not change the info on the website? (it says ALL Honda 1998-2002 Models).. send it back and waiting for my money as we speak

so to get to the point.. is there anything i can do with my factory radio? get that connector installed? (which i think is unlikely).. i didn't want to resort to this but is there a "best" quality sound fm radio transmitter or product along that line.. anything i can get to have the best sound quality possible.. i feel like my ipod is going to waste..i can post pics of my radio (what i sent blitzsafe) if youd like.. please recommend me something.. thanks again

Did you ever come to a solution? I too own a 2002 HAC and am just getting into this stuff. Is there a way to tell if your head unit has the 14 pin port before disassembling the console?

Update:

So I found this post describing why you might have this issue.
http://www.logjam.d3datasolutions.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t684.html

Unfortunately, it sounds like I won't be able to know if I can hardwire an ipod until I crack open the dash and take a look. Can anyone give/send me a tutorial on how to disassemble a 2002 Honda Accord EX V6 6cd changer dash, with pictures?

Thanks!

some 2002 early 2003 Honda accords with the 6 disc in dash radio don't have the 14 pin plug ( this plug is on the back side or under the radio ) and there is no way to tell until you remove the radio i also notice that the same radio on the Honda CRV and odyssey have the plug all the time the only way is to re place the radio

this is the radio no 14 pin plug

same radio with the plug

Oh boy, you are supposed to pull the radio to see what plug it has? :shake:

I have a '99 Accord that I would like to hard wire to the factory radio which works just fine. It is an AM/FM/CD Player without the cassette player shown in the eBay pix.

My car is before the "Music Link" Honda adapter, but I have read that those don't work anyway and Honda parts (for a family member's '08 Accord) told me that they were discontinued due to Apple's failure to provide necessary information.

I would very much like to leave the existing radio in place.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

there are many ipod adapters for the 99 Honda accord and you don't have to remove the radio, that problem is only with the 2002 2003 models
