It's since been replaced, but last week I was updating my 4G Nano to version 1.2.
My PC hung so I had to force quit.
While it was shut down I removed the iPod only to notice that it appeared to be empty.
I went to settings>about where I noticed that it was showing as version 1.2 and that there were only 5 Megs free despite all the menus being empty.
The hilarious part is that my iPod was now named "Trashe~1". :eek:
The next time I tried to connect the iPod it showed up in "My Computer" as "Portable Music Player" rather than as an iPod and iTunes and the iPod updater wouldn't recognise it.
I tried plugging it into my Mac. The Mac recognised it but when I ran the iPod updater it would just hang.
Has anyone seen this before or knows what causes this?
I was thinking virus but my PC scans clean with McAfee, Norton, Spybot, a2 etc.
I even took it to the shop and they say it's clean too.
I've since replaced the iPod (with a 60G :D ) so I don't need a fix I'm just really curious.
