View Full Version : How does you iPod make you feel??
I know iPod users are exceedingly passionate indeed about their iPods! I'm conducting market research, and would be incredibly grateful if anyone could spare 2 minutes to reply to me with your response to:
- how owning/listening to your iPod makes YOU feel about yourself. It can be ANYTHING...e.g. cool, trendy, unique....whatever!!
Thank you so much!! :)

Well I don't know if this counts....but my iPod makes me pretty darn happy I have all my music on me. It makes me feel alert (eg wakes me up) when I am resisting the urge to fall asleep on the bus ;)

My iPod makes me feel like a pampered little techno-princess considering how much less expensive everyone else's personal players are compared to mine on the bus. I also feel like I may eventually be a good target for a mugging.

About a year ago somebody posted the same thing. I mean almost the exact same wording.
Hm, is there an iPod Marketing Class going on out there somewhere?
Oh, my iPod makes me feel like world domination is within my grasp. :D

Erm, I arrived here about two weeks ago. So did my iPod.
I am not my evil twin sister. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!
I live in a fairly working class area, so I think my statement is really just my glossy white liberal guilt going for a jog :)

: my iPod makes me feel connected...to other iPod owners, to art, to music. It makes me remember my love for music. It makes me enjoy solitude again.
Truth? I guess, in the end, my iPod makes me feel...peaceful. :
that was beautiful, man (tear)

It always makes me feel like I know the punch-line to the inside joke. Everyone else doesn't get it and won't get it until they get an iPod. I travel a lot and when I fly I am usually able to upgrade. I'll sit up in First or Business class and watch folks board the plane. I usually use my white ear-buds that came with the iPod at this point. I just watch. Invariably someone else gets on the plane with an iPod and sees mine. The reactions are anything from a big grin to a friendly comment to a knowing look, like they too know the punch-line and have the inside scoop.

I work on a college campus and regularly listen to music on my iPod to and from the parking garage. I enjoy listening to music and I do love the ability to take whatever I'm listening to and bring it with me. I, like most people, am very passionate about my music.
However, meandering around campus with my earbuds in often makes me feel self-conscious, like people who see me with it see me as someone detached from the world, someone who's removed himself from reality, from voices, from the goings-on around him and has isolated himself within with his music, because that is exactly what I'm doing.
This morning as I walked into my building, I saw a cute girl who works in my department (whom I rather like) coming down the steps. My music was up and it was somewhat loud, and although I saw her smile at me and say "good morning" I could not hear her. I said "good morning" back to her and continued up the steps. I felt really self-conscious though, because she could see plainly that I was listening to music and probably assumed that an attempt at further conversation would have been .. intrusive. Which is too bad because I like her and would gladly stop to talk to her.
95% of the time I don't really care what other people think of me when I'm listening to my music. But sometimes, like this morning, it's ... well, it is what it is. Sometimes I listen with just one earbud in because then I *can* hear people who talk to me and can keep better track of what's going on around me .. and then I feel like a secret agent. LOL

i haven't gotten mine yet, but when i get it i definitely agree with what baggss said, that it's like knowing the punch line to an inside joke. You get a weird feeling when you see somebody else with an iPod, like you're sharing a passion with everyone else.

Just handling my precious little pearly white mp3 player makes me feel ultra-stylish haha. I dunno, I feel great owning this product after months of wanting it!

I like the punchline comment although for me there is another joke among the actual iPod owners. In this joke the punchline is known to ipodders who actually realise that buying a $250+ mp3 player and wearing the stock apple ear buds is "the joke".
For me getting re-aquainted to music i haven't heard in a long time is pure pleasure. I wish i had bought an ipod much much earlier.

When I listen to my iPod mini, the way I feel is a reflection of the music that I'm listening to at the time. But more times than not, I begin to smile when listening, because I realize that the tiny thing in my hand is what is playing all this music nice and loud.
..and I still can't get over how awesome it feels to just hold the mini. I swear it's getting smaller everyday!

Well i felt very happy with it, untill I heard that the battery only lasts 18 months and you can only charge it like 500 times. It makes me feel that my iPods all old and used. Plus I have a big scratch on the right side of the screen of it. It still makes me happy, but i wish the battery life was a little longer and the screen and the whole iPod itself was scratch proof.

Before i purchased an ipod i laughed at those who had become emotionaly attached to an electronic object. Now i feel and share this special sort of emotion, and feel like i've joined some sort of secret society....and every once and a while i can't help but beam with pride!:D

I like to call it the "SUV effect":when you get something so cool, expensive, shiny, pretty much a statement of who you are, and you feel better than anyone else. Until you see someone else with one, that is.

Having Honey B Pod was one of the best things to happen to me...Oh! I mean buying my daughter...Uh! I mean buyin my iPod...hehehe! ;)
I love having my iPod because I sacrificed to buy one. So it's special to me; we have a special connection. I lay her in the bed with me at night and I let her play until it's time to go to sleep. I clean her up and change her clothes everyday.
I love the fact that we can come to the lounge and converse with other iPod owners. Were like a family fo iPod owners here. We understand each other's commitment to our iPod. The iPod gives you status.
I feel absolutely fantastic as an iPod owner and would not have it any other way.
:) Much Love.:D
