I have read many messages about wiring in an ipod thru the head unit via the CD changer input at the back. I already have a changer and dont really want to replace it with the ipod (or change the head unit), is there any way of having both? Is it possible to piggy back the ipod on the back of the current connection?
The head unit doesnt have audio input in the front.

Thanks

Most of the adapters (IE Blitzsafe, PIE) will not let you run a cd player through it also. For my set up (http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kman1666/lst?.dir=/ipod+in+my+car&.src=ph&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/) I used a Sony head unit, so I had to by the Sony Aux-in adapter to get it to work, and that has room for another cd changer plugged into it. So it seems to me the easiest way would be to find one made by the manufacturer of the head unit because they might support it.

Buzzer,

I had the same dilemma, PIE thankfully offers a 3way switch for my car (i.e. CD Changer, iPod, other). I just mounted a button with notification lights in my ashtray, so I pop open the ashtray and press the button to switch between changer and iPod. It works very well, and sounds leaps and bounds better than the tape adapter I had been using. Maybe they offer one for your car, check at http://www.pie.net/

Buzzer,

Did you ever figure it out?

What is the brand and model of your aftermarket stereo?

I'm still working out what to do. I have an itrip and am giving it a few more chances to redeem itself, but it's not great, most of the frequencies are taken up in the UK.
I think i'll try to wire in something to the head unit, it looks like PIE might be able to do something, or Dension. I have an Audi, with a chorus tape head unit with a 6 changer attached. I'll post something up when i do something about it....
