my ipod nano is F***** ... can anyone help me please !?

Hi my name is shant djambazian and i have owned this black ipod nano for over all 6 months now .. and i got it for school ... but then there is a time i didin't use it for like 1 month .. didin't touch it at all and when i came to open it it have me a big problem !!

i openned it and the only thing it was doing no mather what is the apple logo aprearing .. then the apple logo + back light lights up .. then starts over again on and on and on and on and on :mad: until there is no more baterry !! and there is no way of sync it to the pc as well .. it will restart every 2 or 3 seconds ether ways ... but it will charge perhaps when i plug it on my pc .. but with no icon seying so :confused:

and when i do a hard reset this is what it tells me --->

please i neeeeeeed help on this !! apple wan't 60$ because i need extended warranty for this .. and i don't have that kind of money ! :(

iPods are warrantied for 1 year so you shouldn't need an extended Apple Care protection plan to get it fixed. You say it's only 6 months old so they should replace or fix it for you.

Looks like a failed linux boot. Did you try to install linux on your nano?

yeah i did and thats the reason im not sending it cuz after knowing this there going to say ... oh well thats not are problem u screwed it up ...

but ipod linux always worked great on it , never got a problem at all , but since i didin't use it for about like i sead 1 month .. the ipod didin't wan't to know nothing it just simply never openned ! always keeped on restarting :confused:

any solutions ?

well hard reset to me is pressing and holding the select+menu boutons .. cuz i can't do anything else ... there is no way for the pc to help even when i plug it in ... it will restart over and over and over and over again ! and there is no time for the pc to sinc it down ... :mad:

so im kinda screwed up here :(

Rerun the linux install on the ipod. Once that is up and running then you can reformat using apple updater. Getting linux working on the ipod at this point is to get the ipod to the state of working and being recognized by your computer.

Also give complete details on what the issues are, including the fact that you installed linux on it for future reference.

don't know if u understand what im trying to say ...

the ipod keeps on restarting on and on and on and on until there is no more battery left .. and since it keeps on restarting before the ipod openneds up ... there is completely no way at all to sync it to the pc .... so in my case forget about the pc cuz it can't connect it to it .. is there a other way manualy ?

i need a hard format

how can i do that ?!

remember there is no way at all that the pc will reconize the ipod .. its like if its not even pluged but it does charge .. but thats all

Oh I understood. I wasn't telling how to get it to stop the loop that has become your failed boot cycle. I was saying that if/when you finally get it out of the loop to proceed with a reinstall.

but i won't never install linux back again ! ... and i have a feeling i will have to pay lots of money just to stop this failure ... :o

If you're able to see the Apple logo, then have you try getting the iPod into Disk Mode?

yeah i see the apple's logo open with not back light then 1 or 2 seconds later the light will open ... then it will restart and do this over and over again

how can i do disk mode !? :confused:
