:confused: Since I had to reset my iPod, (new laptop hard drive, yadda, yadda) it needs to completely re-synch iTunes (almost 5000 songs). However, when I try, the battery in my iPod drains before the synch finishes. Short of indiviually unchecking 80% of my music at any one time so it can synch in chunks, does anyone have a suggestion?

If you don't already, use USB 2.0 or Firewire when you transfer. It charges at the same time.

Unfortunately, my laptop is just a teeny bit too old to have either one resident. When I use one in the PCMCIA slot, Windows freezes. Darn it.

if yer able to find a high powered USB hub, it may work. One that puts out 1 (one) amp per port or more. Try Google.
