Why iSkin???

I was looking through this forum and i see so much about the iskin. I am looking for a new case and i had been looking at leather folio cases like the Covertec, Piel Frama, and Incase ones (for a Ipod with touch wheel, no dock connector). Why is iSkin so much more popular than these folio cases? What are some other types of cases that are like iSkin that are good? Like I said i have a 2nd generation iPod and i was looking at iSkin and i don't like the boxy look to it. I like the exo2 but it isn't made for the 2nd generation iPods. Also does anyone have a good suggestion for a travel case that can keep all my gear (Headphones, iPod, Case, Firewire, Charger, etc.) I already know about the iTrac case and was wondering if there are anymore good ones?

The silcone eXo cases are stylish looking and allow some of your iPod to show through and provides moderate protection if dropped. I had the Marware Sport Convertible case which provides some of the best protection, but it hid the iPods good looks.
