my pc shutsdown and reboots whenever i run any program that might detect my ipod. for example i may connect my ipod to my pc but if i run ephpod or itunes windows reboots . wtf i have a firewire card on my pc and i even switched the slots my firecard isnt belkin or adaptec what can be the problem?

your card may be bad if it cuz the pc to reboot everytime you run a program for ipod but to not be wrong on this have you tried it with any other devices that are firewire base. I would get a new card for it. I had similar problem when I try transfering some of my files to a new external drive and it would damage some of my pics and mp3s.

yeh dont risk it just ask for a replacement card. If you can go for a brand name then do it, theyre not much more expensive but its easier to get support and help with them, besides you pay for what you get for. Same as with an Ipod.

all is now well. i formatted my ipod for windows and everything works fine. i dont know what the future will bring but everything seems ok presently . my pc doesnt reboot. all i did was uninstall macopener. macopener, xplay, ephpod and to an extent itunes f'ed me royally. it was one problem after another but everything seems ok there is one problem though i uploaded about 4 gigs worth of tracks but my ipod displays its available capacity at 9.2 gigs where as my original capacity is 9.2 gigs. all the songs are present and work fine and itunes displays the proper capacity.
