I'm looking to find a *reasonably priced* firewire Female to female connector, or a male to female firewire extension. nobody seems to sell them. I want to extend out the ipod car charger's cable (the coiled one) so I can have a flexible non-coiled cable running into my ipod for a bit cleaner of a solution. I will wire the charger's plug-in to be hidden under the dashboard so it won't take up a bunch of space plugged into my car's console.
if anyone can find one of these cables let me know. It seems everyone is either out of them, or they cost more than the charger cost. ideally $10 range would be ideal.

Google is your friend! Get a female-female connector here (http://www.buyextras.com/fi6feto6fead.html) and get a reasonably priced firewire cable here (http://www.compgeeks.com/products.asp?cat=CBL#Firewire%20Cables).

Yeah, the geeks are great for obscure things. The only problem with them is that shipping is killer unless you buy a bunch of stuff.

I went and ordered everything from that buyextras.com site that you gave me a link to.... turns out they had a cheap firewire cable too, and shipping was only $3.85.

Good deal! I didn't look there for a firewire cable before, but I now see that they have one for $4. They don't have many reviews at ResellerRatings (http://www.resellerratings.com/seller5652.html) but the few they have are good ones.
