frozen ipod

arrgghhhh!

my ipod mini 4gig has frozen. it wont turn on. if i plug it in to charge (either via pc or mains) the screen lights up, and i am on the starting screen, but it wont 'unlock' (ie the padlock symbol remains in view, and nothing will happpen).

i was wondering if anyone can help me out - has anyone got any idea's as to solutions. ive had it about 16 months - is this the life of an ipod or can it be saved (im also worried it might be out of warranty)

first, make sure its not on hold (the little switch at the top)

then,

have you tried a hard reset of your ipod?

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears (this usually takes like 10 seconds)
