First; YES I did some searching but did not find the answer to this specific question.

I recently got a new computer and would like to set up my iPod/iTunes library on that computer, and on that one PC ONLY.

I keep my mp3 files on an external Hard Drive.

Question: if I copy the current iTunes library files from the PC that is currently controlling my iPod and paste them into the proper directory in iTunes on the new PC, is that all I need to do to completely transfer my iPod, and most importantly, all my playlists, etc??

If not, exactly what is involved in transferring my library, playlists, etc. to a new PC?

Thanks!!

See the article 'how to move your iTunes library' in the iPod 201 tutorial. Link is on the toolbar above.

Just as an FYI for anyone who may be searching for a similar answer:

It worked!

All I did was copy both the iTunes library files to the new computer into the appropriate folder, attach the external HD, fire it up, open iTunes, & it was good to go!!!
