I have a problem my hard drive is dead and I am very worried about my playlsit. The last Time i moved from one machine to the next I lost all my songs when I pluged in my Ipod. How can I do this without looseing all my songs?

ok.. first thing to do is try to restore ur hard drive with everything intact. If thats not possible then use a program like PodUtil at http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/software/podutil.php to copy ur songs from the iPod back onto the computer.
Make sure that iTunes isnt configured to automatically open when u connect the iPod to a computer, otherwise u may lose ur songs when it does an auto-sync (if its been configured to) and there are no songs on ur hard drive. There's an option in iTunes u need to configure.
