Well, I finally decided to replace my stock white apple earbuds. I have looked into diffrent models, and have finally narrowed my choice down to two. The V-Moda Bass Freg, and the Sony MDR-EX90. If seen thoughts and reviews on both of thes in the forums, but I havn't seen these two compared. Both seem to have the features I want, and I'd like to hear from anyone with experiances with eather (or both would be fantastic, but I'm sure not so many people have both)

Thanks in advance

EX90 of those two.

If you can't find HJE70s, can't afford the SuperFi 5EB, and don't want CX300s......

I liked the Ex90's over the HJE70's because of the interesting look of the 90's. I'm think I like earbud/earplug design of them, so I want them over theHJE70's

I don't want to pay that much for earphones, so the SuperFi 5EB are out, and i havent heard to much about the CX300s.

But are the Ex90's worth the twice the price of the Bass Freq's? And do you think that I'll need to exentually replace the Ex90's if they suffer the same cord fraying fate of the previos sony's?

There are good reasons to prefer one headphone over another. Sound being the primary one.

"I liked the Ex90's over the HJE70's because of the interesting look of the 90's."

Buy them, then, and don't waste sensible people's time asking advice.

Why worry? You're judging on appearance......

If you don't want to be bothered by my posts, don't reply to them. I don't think you quite got what I was saying there, but hey, who cares? Aparently I'm not a sensible person.

All Jackonicko is saying is that it's pointless comparing headphones on looks. The HJE70s sound better so are a better choice than the EX90s... even if the EX90s look nicer. When it comes down to it, all you should judge headphones on is how they sound.

Actually I -personally- disagree lol, you should have your cake and eat it too! They should LOOK and sound great, earphones are shown prominently on your head so they should definitely match your attire and look cool as possible, this is the premise of V-MODA modaphones hearwear.

Regarding BF vs EX90 - They are two different price points but also have their own unique characteristics. Bass Freq is $50 msrp and EX90 is $110, BF was made to also appeal to fashion-conscious consumers which is why it's out in 8 colors. The cable configuration and noise isolation is also different and is a personal preference. Interestingly, many common consumers in our test groups often prefer Bass Freqs over much more expensive "balanced studio monitor" models, especially depending on the genre of music.

Anyhow, best of luck and whatever headphone you choose rock on!

Peace,

-val

My fault here I guess. I was trying to dash off a qick post before going to work. I think I may have been thiking along the lines of that they looked more comfortable or something, I don't even remember.

Anyways, I actually decided not to get eathier one, and instead pick up some CX300's. Thanks Jack for alerting me to those. They're great.
