Hello all. This is only my second post here so please be kind if I've chosen a topic that's already been beaten to death. I checked around but couldn't find an authoritative answer to this question.
I've recently upgraded to a 30gig 5g from my 20gig 4g (thank you Futureshop product service plan!). Previously I'd used this case: http://www.welovemacs.com/mpc6.html
I use it at the gym to keep my ipod safely on my hip and to allow me to throw it in my gym bag with relative impunity. It's also got a belt with pockets that let me throw my student id card in so getting into the gym is quick and easy. One problem I ran into with my 4g was scratching on the case, and I've heard it only gets worse with the newest ipods.
What I'm looking for is a slim fit all-around case that will protect my ipod from scratching but can be left on it all the time AND will fit inside my case logic case (shown in the link above). The case logic case snuggly fit my 4th generation ipod, so I hope there would be enough room for form fitting case to fit inside. At the moment I've got it in the ipod sock all the time to prevent scratches but that really isn't an optimum solution. What I really need is almost a second skin around the body with click wheel and screen protection.
I've thought about silicone sleeves but they seem like they'd be annoying to slip in and out of my pocket due to the relatively high coefficient of friction. They're also rarely listed with any type of dimensional specs to give me an idea of whether they'd fit in the case logic case.
One case that seems to fit this bill perfectly is the MacSkinz series of cases. I love the artist series, but at $50 us they're pretty damn expensive and I'm not sure whether they'd be just as prone to scratching. Add to that the fact that the cases on their website seem unavailable for ordering and you've got a strike out on their part.
Can someone please help?
