hi all,

I was wondering what are the best headphones for the iPod under $20 or should I just keep the headphones that came with the iPod?

Consider the SONY Fontopia, a little more than $20 new on ebay.

Sound great, can be worn for hours with no pain.
Also roll up nicely for easy carry

You can buy the Koss KC50 of KC55 for $20. They're supposed to be the best you can get for that price. The KC50 is a clip-on pair and the KC55 is behind the head. Otherwise, they're the same.

i have the sony fontopia and i hate them. I have to disagree about rolling up the cords cause they are diff. lengths which really makes it a pain. Your right about the comfort though i fall asleep in bed with them on all the time.

I have the MDR-EX70LP. Sorry you have trouble rolling them up.
I start at the plug using tree fingers. When I get to the long side I use that to wrap around the bundle, then snap the two buds with the case holding the whole thing together. I've carried these around like this in my pocket for over a year with no problems.

I also like the way they seal out outside noise. I let my father use these with the lawn mower and he said they worked excellent.

I also like that no one else can hear what your listening to.

I can't judge if these are the best sounding but I find them the perfect carry around headphones.

I have the Sony MDR-G63 street style behind the ear head phones. They are amazingly comfortable, not long cord, and changeable colors for the sides. Really good. I recomend those. But they are around $30 so they might not be what you are looking for. But otherwise, they are great.

Agreed. I own both, I got the Koss's cheaper, and they sound MUCH better than the streetstyle..

Can the Koss KSC-55's be purchased at a retail outlet or do they have to be ordered online?

Just do a google.com search, you'll find them online

Yep, you can get them for $20.00 or less, and that includes shipping. You can often find the KSC 50's, which are the earclip version of the 55's at Best Buy for as low as $14.00, but I've never seen the KSC 55's, with the neckband (which I prefer), at Best Buy...
