just think of how terrible its going to be in the weeks after christmas when everyone and their mom is sending in their ipod to have it repaired. Its really gonna slow down the process.

Is the 3G iPod really that bad? I'm almost put off buying one with the amount of negative feedback surrounding it.

no there's nothing "that bad" about it so to speak. Its just that people send in ipods for really dumb reasons most of the time. The majority of ipods that actually do break (including 3g) you can find their users here complaning because this is afterall a forum and people are more interested in getting help for their product rather than talking about candlelit dinner's with it.

But anyways, if your thinking about getting a new ipod you have to think what means more to you. Space and cool looks or decent space and older but more reliable functions? both ipods do the same thing but the 3g looks cooler and feels cooler to use. Its your choice, plus you get 1year warranty with new ipods. Im not sure there are even places to buy the old generation ipods that still offer a warranty. Except for a refurb from apple
