my video ipods screen broke. It was just in my pocket too.....:(

so, i wanted to replace the screen myself(considering professional replacements are twice as expensive).

The only thing thats holding me back is that i have no clue how to do it..haha

Do yo guys know of any websites or guides that can show me through replacing the screen?
And is it easy doing it? im a little scared im gonna break the ipod shell trying to open it.. /:

It's very difficult to change out the screen if you've never done it before (and I'm very serious about that).

If you don't want to break it my advice is to send it to someone to do it professionally.

I've replaced many of them before and I know what I'm doing, however if you've never taken an iPod apart it can be very difficult.

You have to get it apart, unhook multiple ribbon cables (power, hard drive, headphone/hold switch, broken lcd)

Once you get all that unhooked then you have to unscrew 6 screws holding the faceplate onto the metal frame of the iPod. Once those come out you then have to break the adhesive holding the metal frame and faceplate together... then you have to pull the broken lcd out and put the replacement back in...

It's definitely not an easy task to do, therefore I recommend you have someone else do it professionally if you don't want anything broken.
