I got my ATH-CK7's today from Audiocubes, and I'm impressed. I chose them over the Panasonic HJE70's because the metal arm on those looked uncomfortable and excessive, and the Panasonics had the long cord/extension thing.
The sound is noticably better than my old Sony ex71's, with clearer highs, and a better overall balance. In regards to bass, I'd say they have just as much bass as the ex71's, except it's punchier, and a lot cleaner. No muddiness to crap up the rest of the spectrum.
The highs are almost... too high. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet. I also hear that the high end settles down after burning in, so I'll report back later.
I really wish I could give a better idea of the sound, but the only other canal phones I've used are the 71's. :o
They're sturdy and metal, and feel pretty heavy in your hand, but aren't noticable when they're in. It's also my first behind-the-neck pair, so I'm getting used to feeling a cord on the back of my neck. My favorite part though is a normal length cord, and lack of a heavy extention plug. I can't say how much that ticked me off on the Sony's. With these there is no plug to fly around while running, and no overly-long cord to get slammed in doors, snagged on furniture, or caught on lawnmower parts.
Also, having a pair of headphones that don't dissolve after a month of use is a plus.
Later when I get a hold of a camera, I'll post a few pictures.
