Recently received the Cerulean XLR from iskin and noticed that the left ear cord is much shorter than the right. There doesn't seem to be a way to correct this (the small rubber that holds the cords together doesn't seem to move). I have 2 pairs and they are both the same...Maybe they are supposed to be like that, for some reason?...A little help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance
Jesse

Headphones with asymmetrical cord lengths are meant to be worn with the longer cord going behind your head, resting on your neck.

Thanks mithra....I see what you mean...basically all the weight is on the left side...it is different and uncomfortable for now...I guess I need to get used to it...For now, the V design is much better for me...
Thanks again
Jes

In reference to my last post about getting comfortable with these asymmetrical cords, it is pretty much impossible. These cords are horrible...What is the purpose? I turn my head to the left or right and they come out...lay down, they come out...When I try to wear them regularly (without the behind the neck wraparound), the excess cord on the right side is up on my face. Any solutions or help???
Thanks
Jes

actually jman333 the more normal cord layout is called a 'Y' not a V and the cord layout you have on your iskin Cerulean XLR, like that on the CX300 and Sony 71/51's, is called a 'J'... and yeah your right the J layout is and can be very uncomfortable to begin with until you either get used to it or get bored and annoyed with it.

read this thread... I explain exactly why some mfgrs use asymmetrical cables...

Thanks valkolton, that really cleared everything up...I honestly had no idea about asymmetrical until I ordered the Cerulean...Need some earphones for running and also working out...the asymmetrical are not going to cut it...I have read good things about the v-moda bass freq. today and I am looking into them. I guess you would be the best source for this- "Are they good for working out"?
Thanks
Jesse

In-ear models that weigh less than about 16g and have 1.8mm-2.0mm diameter cables (2.2-3.0 is too heavy and sways) like the Bass Freq (symmetrical), EX71 (asymmetrical), CX300 (asymmetrical), are optimal for working out.

I jogged 7-10 miles with Bass Freq with every .1mm diameter cable from 1.8mm to 2.5mm and found 2.0mm to be the most optimal. 2.0mm is thick enough to be "quality" and "durable", yet light enough for activities. It works very well for my favorite hobby of running (from the police jk).

Also try the different size fittings (small or medium usually work best), and make sure to hang the earphone cable in FRONT of your head not behind for more security if they are symmetrical cables.

I also use a cable manager like the included "modawrap" to shorten the cable length, this prevents the cables from swaying as much and getting in the way while lifting weights. Sumanjin also makes a smartwrap that is very similar to modawrap.

i don't like the microphonics that my ex51 give me while running
