View Full Version : eXo 2 or wait for eXo 3?

Hey all!
So today I just got my 40 GB iPod :D and now it's time to buy a case before it get's scratched up. After searching around it seems everyone is buying the eXo's from Lajo.
However, after searching it seems the eXo 2 is coming out like in a few days and the eXo3 maybe in a few weeks?
Which should I get? I'm looking for a full covering of my iPod that still allows me to easily slip it in the pocket and I'm not sure if I should wait for eXo3 or get eXo 2 or what the deal is.
Also, if I want my case to match the original iPod as much as possible, should I get ICE, FROST, or SNOW?

I would get the xskn exo2. It is already out, on lajo.biz. I recieved mine today, and it is awesome.

So the exo2 offers full protection over the iPod and isn't bulky?
What then is the best color to get to match the original iPod, frost, ice, or snow?
And where is the best place to buy one?

Cool thanks! Looks like the frost is the closest to iPod's original color too!
Now where is the best place to buy this eXo 2? I noticed there were a few places to get them.

I'm brand new, just ordered my iPod last night, but I believe those photos were for the exo, not the exo2. The exo2 looks far superior to the exo to me. I'm talking about the iskin ones, not Lajo's site.
What I'm wondering is whether the iskin exo2 is better or the Lajo exo2. I find it frustrating that I can't find any details at all on Lajo's site for his exo2 so I'm just about ready to order the iskin exo2.
Can anyone tell me whether an engraving on an iPod is visible through an iskin exo2 or if particular colors show the engraving better?
Thanks a lot. I'm getting the 20g 3rd gen if that matters.

I would wait until monday, when lajo is supposedly unveiling a new user-friendly design for his site. I have the xskn exo2 from lajo, and it is great.

After reading a couple of the long threads on here about the two exo2 versions I'm thinking about forgetting the iSkin one, if their customer support sucks, the belt clip is crap, and the screen protector has a logo on it?!?!?!?!?!
I want the Xskin exo2 now but I'm concerned with the posts about the buttons not working. I also don't understand the deal with the new clip he's working on, and how you would be able to get one if you bought the current version which I guess doesn't have his new clip scheme yet. Also, can you pick your color ishade screen protector when you buy a skin from Lajo? I would assume so, I'd get the clear one.
Can you tell me if the engraving I got on my iPod would be visible through one of the more transparent Xskins? I'm thinking about a clear skin unless you can view the engraving through a colored one.
I bought my iPod for a trip which I am leaving for on Dec. 17th so I would like to find a good skin and have it delivered by then!!!

I love my eXo.
The way the new belt clip will work: Lajo will be giving everybody who purchased an Xskn a key worth $10 which you will enter when you check out. He said this will be enough to cover the cost of the clip and the shipping for it.
My guess is you definitely won't be able to see your engraving through Solid, Vibrant, Fluorescent or Pearl series and I don't know on Pure, Frosted, Lively or glow-in-the-dark series. I have a Frogger and I can't see a hint of the iPod logo through it.

On my xskn frost you can see the iPod logo, and an engraving should faintly show through. As for the belt clips, the current cases from lajo/xskn come with a crappy plastic clip that attaches to a metal "nipple" protruding from the back of the case. Supposedly, the new belt clips will just attach to the nipple that is already embeded in the case. Pressing the buttons has not been a problem for me with my new xskn exo2, and I think that the problem is that some people are not aligning the case properly over their iPod.

Is this nipple built into the Xskin exo2 or is it removable? Is it similar to the iSkin one where there's a round metal disc pressed against the back of your ipod? If there was a metal nipple sticking out of the back of your ipod all the time that would be a pain in the ###. Also, is the screen protector logo-free unlike the iskin?

I appreciate the help guys, I want to make an informed purchase, I've already spent $700 Canadian on my ipod and battery pack, and thats with 10% off.
BTW they shipped my battery pack today, less than 24hrs after I ordered. The website said 3-5 days to ship. :eek:
