I was wondering if anyone could let me know what they think about the sportsuit convertible. I am considering getting this case to use at the gym or if I go for a run. Specifically I would like to know how the armband works. Does the ipod feel too big to be worn on the arm? Would it be better to wear it in a waistpack? Any info anyone could provide on this case would be appreciated. Thanks, Rob

Try the big giant "Reviews" button at the top of the site. ;)

I had a Mareware Sportsuit Convertible for my 2nd gen iPod and I loved it. When I got the 30gig 3G iPod, I immediately bought a new one. These are one size fits all, so the 30gig being a little larger, had a really tight fit. In fact, the case kept sliding down. The opening for the dock connector never lined up, so it was awkward connecting the dock connector cable. And the little flap the closes over the dock connector never work. I finally tore it off.

I recently gave up and bought a Countour Design Showcase. When I took the iPod out of the Marware case, the screen had little scratches on it and the bottom back of the iPod was coated in a sticky, black glue-like substance. Took forever to get it off. It offered great protection and worked well for exercising, but in the end I was greatly dissapointed.

Despite some negative comments, I think this case is superb. Although it doesn't really show off how nice the iPod is, it certainly protects it THE MOST. It's indistructable.

I bought one the day after I got my 20GB pod, and I love it. The pod slips in and stays in nice and secure and I can operate the controls if I need to without removing the pod. It covers the unit well and that?s what I wanted, I bought my pod to listen to music, not to ?show it off?. Some reviews complain about scratches to the pod, I personally don?t care about that. I used some of my PDA screen protector for the screen and that?s perfect to keep a nice useable screen. It?s a portable electronic device, I expect and welcome scratches if I use the pod without a case. I also never take it out of the case and don't use the dock. I just set the unit down and plug in the cable.

I?m not into those ?skin? type cases with colors and all. I wanted something that would protect my unit from dings and dents incase it?s dropped a short distance. Plus the cover is great for tucking away your in-ear?s or buds when not in use.

I?ve read that some users have problems with the clip that comes standard with the case, I haven?t had any problems with it in my use. I only use the clip when I?m out for a walk, not while running. Other than that, the unit stays in my inside jacket pocket, or in my fanny pack/holster in a compartment next to my gun.

Now, I just wish BodyGlove would make a case for it, they make excellent cell phone cases.
