V Moda Bass Freq vs MD33's

I've read up a fair bit on the Bass Freq, and at the moment they seem pretty interesting.

More bass than the EX71, but I never really found the EX71 that great.. The bass was ok, but the sound quality was pretty lacking IMO. I got sick of the highs and went back to the Apple earphones (which handle the high end much nicer)

My current earphones are the MD33's (I have two pairs in fact! I love them a LOT! And when I thought one pair died, I rushed and got another, but the first was fine eventually)

These earphones are great, and I find them better than the EX71 in every way possible. The bass is much nicer, I think it's as strong if not stronger, but much deeper and tighter. The high end is much nicer, and overall I think the sound quality is a lot better.

Now these Bass Freq's have got me interested. I like my bass, but I dont want to sacrifice overall sound quality for bass. So I want to know, does anyone have both these earphones and can make a fair comparison?

I want to find out if these should be my next upgrade from the MD33.

If not, I don't mind, I am perfectly happy with the MD33's as it is, just wouldn't mind experiencing even better sound!

Well I don't own a working set of EX71s, but I used to use them for a long time before other competing sound and price competition turned up - I love my Bass Freq's and they aren't all about bass - they have good bass considering the price and the target market/price.... personally I don't see the point going from one set of phones to another unless your replacing some that broke down, because it makes more sense to upgrade than stay in the same price scale, so I would stick with what you've got.

I like the V-Moda's a great deal, and they are a great company who will see you right if you have any problems, so I'd encourage anyone to support them. I think that the Bass Freq does better than the MD33, too, but you can do better for not much more money. If you had EX71s I'd urge an upgrade to the Bass Freq straight away, but if you're happy with the MD33, whyy not wait for V-Moda's next release?

I do like the company, and would like to support them, I just want to see if they are better than MD33's as these earphones are great! I just can't resist bass and so wouldn't mind more ;)

Well I'm busy waiting for what v-mode have lined up next, but if you love bass - and I know I do because its always the first part of the spectrum I listen to - but if you want bass in a cheap'ish package then you'll be very happy. Personally if you can afford more

Hmm yeah? If you think they have an even better product coming I don't mind waiting and I don't mind spending a bit more either. I just prefer not to spend too much as I prefer earphones to headphones (easier to take around) and I don't want to spend a lot on something that is portable and isn't meant to have the perfect bass. For that I have a system at home with a proper subwoofer, and that's where I can get my real listening done :D
