Hows the case that comes WITH the 20 gig iPod?

I'm planning on getting a 20 gig iPod and want to know how good the case is before buying a different one. Does anyone use it? It seems since the top is open it wouldn't be good for jogging, is there something that keeps it locked in? Tell me all you know about this case!

It's lousy! I can't believe that Apple actually sells this piece of garbage as a separate item. You cannot access any of the controls (other than the on/off switch) while the iPod is in it, and it scratches the unit every time you remove it or put it back into the case. Get the Contour Showcase -- I've had three cases, and it's the best one, by far.

Um, I think it's really nice in and of itself. It looks nice and is well made. But, right, you can't access the controls and it DOES put fine scratches on the iPod everytime you put it in or take it out. The fit is snug, but I don't know if it is snug enough to jog with. I don't use mine, personally.

everyone hammers the apple case. It's free guys! i mean, if look at it from apples perspective: they believe the remote is good, and people will use it, so you use the apple case with the remote, no problem. Also, the case itself is low profile, decent belt clip, looks nice, scratch protection if you cut off the apple logo, and totally preserves original look of the ipod because it slides so easily in and out of the case. people have said the next best thing to having an iPod is holding one, and the apple case lets you hold and see the ipod naked in it's natural beauty.
now i personally don't use the case. but you could.

So that's where all the scratches on my new iPod have been coming from... CRAP! :eek: I need to get a new case ASAP.

if you dont need easy button access i guess it would be alright. but if you want quick button access then its useless.

2 days after getting my 20 gigger, I said no way to the case that came with it because of the scrathes. Then I ordered an iSkin eVo and it is perfect-the Arctic color.

ive not got round to ordering my evo yet but i dont use the tight one witht the apple tag that comes with the iPod but the other one that comes with it the more of a bag one if anyone knows what i mean. you cant access the remote and it probably gives it scrathces but i like it for general protection from big scratches and keys
