I have spent the last hour with both headsets on via my griffin splitter thingy...
listened to all types of music. Wanted voice, bass, piano, strings etc to listent to..
set the eq at R&B which for my taste seems the best.
listened to Emerson Lake and Palmer - The Three Fates
Tommy James and the Shondells - Mony Mony
Beatles - A day in the life
among many others.... Going back and forth, rewinding the song to hear the same part on both.
After all that, I am so much more confused than ever before.
I find the Sennheiser has MORE bass, not necessarily cleaner or better, but louder. It also seems to accentuate the mid range some.
The e3c's were MUCH brighter, and much less volume of bass, but very clean. They were much cleaner on voice overall.
It also seemed that after putting on the e3c's after listening to the CX300's that they didnt have bass, but in a few seconds the ears sorta adapted to them and the bass was there and noticeable, but didnt thump your ears like the CX300's. I found that the CX300's were a less bright and the voices seemed muddy after listening to the e3c's but after a few seconds the ears sort accomodated to that and they sounded fine... whaddya think?
I would love the increased bass of the Cx300's but the overall sound of the e3c's
anyone have any advice on a set that accomplishes that? Perhaps the e4c's?
I can use these for 30 days , and return if I want, to Circuit City. I may just give the CX300s to my sister as she cant afford better ones...
