I've just had my Super.fi 5 pro earphones replaced under UEs warranty. They sent me a new pair which were obviously a redesign on the model I had.

The plastc casing is now a metalic black (quite nice) and the cable is clear instead of black and is thicker.

While I'm sure its an improved spec I kinda prefered my old thin, black cable.

Does anyone know anywhere in the UK where I can get an old style replacement cable?

I've tried Hand Held Audio but they dont carry any stock and think anything they order from UE will be the new spec.

Thanks

Dan

i think the best place to get them from would be UE themselves, though when i got my replacements a few weeks ago, they told me that the 'new' black cables were not available for shipping yet (i emailed them asking what happened to the black cables and the insert for my case). apparently the old cables may have also caused problems for the drivers, which is why they've become a fair bit thicker.

anyway i like the clears - they're different! :)

Thanks yinyang

I dont mind the clear thing so much but I'm finding it hard to get on with the thickness of the cable. It feels like a snake round my neck!

The old cables were so fine I hardly noticed them.

In the UK you can get replacement ear silicons and foamies and cables for all of UE's headphones from Hand Held Audio at http://www.handheldaudio.co.uk - you'll save yourself a whack load of postage considering how much UE want to ship stuff from the US and it will arrive more or less the next day.

Oh and they also stock silicons and foamies and/or wax guards for Shure, Futuresonics and Sennheiser earphones.
