Hmmm, great idea, but can you (or someone) actually build it? It incorporates everything I want / need in a car dock, but even a prototype might be a bit much to put together.

I could definately build this! But sadly, I'm only 15 and dont have any money to finance a prototype. Anybody interested in financing it? I would buy a pocketdock, do the line out mod into the cigarette lighter, then connect the cigarette lighter to the firewire using another mod, and then enclose the entire thing in flexy metal pipe.

Or someone could just mod the belkin auto kit to fit inside the metal tubing. Whichever would work better.

It's not like his ideas are anything special. They've been around for a while.
His "Dashdock" idea has been around for a long time, here's another prototype with basically the same idea...
