I record an investment talk radio show every week. I ten convert the file into an MP3 file. When I load this file which is about 100 mg on my ipod, and I start listening to the show and stop in the middle of it will it bookmark the spot so when I start listening to it again I can pick up where I left off?

Sort of....

Only Audible files will remember your spot if you shut down, switch around and listen to other files.

But with an MP3 files, at least you can do this....

Press pause, do not turn the device off. Let it time out and go to sleep. When you are ready to resume, just hit play and it will wake up where you left off.

Hope that helps.

adding to Parannoya's post...if you don't feel like waiting for your iPod to time out, you can press pause once to pause the iPod, then when the iPod is in pause mode, press and hold the pause button. The iPod will then go into sleep mode and remember where you were when you turn it back on.

Only one gotcha to the above...if you are running firmware version 2.1, there is a new feature which, if you haven't used your iPod in quite a while (over one day), the iPod will go into "deep sleep" mode to save battery life. When the iPod does this, and you turn it on, basically the iPod reboots itself, and it doesn't remember where you were in your mp3 file.
