Ok. I tore apart my WHOLE dashboard in my '02 Jetta, and hard wired the auto kit to the ground loop isolator. Now I'm about to close the thing up, but I want to know what the optimal volume on the Belkin amp is. Do you guys jsut crank it all the way up? Once it is set, I will jsut contorl the volume from the HU.

I also tried to set mine to about 75%. To be honest I'm now leaning to the belief that the amp in there is very much a pre-amp and doesn't degrade the signal. I did try the headphone vs the Belikin line out and the line out is cleaner. I also couldn't hear any difference between the Belkin and the Apple dock.
I'm just waiting for a Proclip mount from Brodit (supplier Nemesis in the UK) and then I'll take some pictures of my rig.

I installed a ground loop isolater while hooking up the belkin, but ti still gives a little hum when accelerating. Any thought?

I actually paid the guys who fitted my car stereo to wire in a new 12v socket and they (intelligently) took the power from the same feed that goes to the head unit. As far as I know that is the best way to avoid ground loops.
I've tried every volume and notice no difference in sound quality if it's turned up all the way. My car isn't a Bentley, so if you drive something super quiet at highway speed then you may hear a difference.
