I was thinking of buying a speaker system for my iPod and found some alternatives from Sony:

SRS-RF90RK (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=t5Rvu2pI8ntvq1WLemdlsCVHKTEDDgAMltA=?Pro ductSKU=SRSRF90RK)
SRS-Z1 (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=t5Rvu2pI8ntvq1WLemdlsCVHKTEDDgAMltA=?Pro ductSKU=SRSZ1)
SRS-D313 (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=t5Rvu2pI8ntvq1WLemdlsCVHKTEDDgAMltA=?Pro ductSKU=SRSD313)

Anyone who have tried one of these systems or got one of them (what do you think of it)?

Anyone who got some other suggestions (doesn't need to be Sony)?

I was also thinking of connecting the PC to the system so both the iPod and the PC were connected at the same time. But to do this do I need some sort of switch to change with when I'm going to use the PC-sound and when I'm going to use the iPod, or is this task done with the system (not all of course)?

I found some others from Harman/JBL: Creature (http://www.harman-multimedia.com/shop_detail.html?cart=HK2_10698715108559&sku=CREATUREWHT&id1=2), Invader (http://www.harman-multimedia.com/shop_detail.html?cart=HK2_10698715108559&sku=INVADER&id1=2). Anyone who got one of these (any good)?

I've got a system of 12 speakers in my office.... They are all from BOSE. The iPod is connected to the BOSE speakers and the PC or the MAC is also connected to them. In my living room I've got a system of 20 speakers from Infinity mixed with 10 speakers from Vulcan with 4 subwoofers from Magnat...I connect the iPod to this great system every evening while I eat or while I have got friends in the house...some think I don't need 4 subwoofers, and so on.... ;)

But if I were you, I would look for BOSE or, if it should be cheaper, for Creative or Yamaha (some Creative shall be good, the Yamaha are surely great)

Since you're talking about a non-mobile system, what about a mini stereo, like this Sony one: (Since you listed Sony items yourself)
Sony Mini Stereo (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=sHDho-3IlWThsdIMR47rqKLHL0EDJlA1rC8=?CategoryName=hav_Hi FiSystems_MicroSystems&Dept=hav&TemplateName=item%2fsy_item_b&ProductSKU=CMTEP707&ContentItemPage=)

Its a bit hard to tell exactly, but I believe it has an AUX input, which you could connect to the dock line out of your iPod. And then you'd be able to listen to the radio or a CD if you wanted to also (say you just got a new CD and hadn't transferred it to your iPod yet).

Just out of curiosity:

-What is your budget?
-Do the speakers have to be wireless?
-Do you need to have a multi speaker system (like 5.1 for surround)

Has anyone seen the new Altec Lansing travel speakers yet?

Look great - and also appear to have a dock for my new little 3G 40GB iPOD!

I noticed them on the Apple site - and have been hanging out to check them out for my office - and when I travel.

I did hear a rumour that we won't see them in Aust now until April (was meant to be Nov)!!!

If they are as great as I hope - I'm then tempted to order from the States - but not sure if the AC adapter can be converted to international / Aust standards.
