Im into hifi, and I pretty much consider myself a audiophile. This being said, I know that the analog output from teh line out of the dock that came with my 3rd generation 20gb ipod, though it sound snice through my $3000 paradigm speaker system, is lacking. I would like to know is there any dock that is powered, and also has a true digital output. I know Im only going to get 2 channel audio, but keeping it digital until the reciever will improve it alot (same as cds). Does anyone know of a dock that does this? Also, if it has a remote, that would be dandy.
Thanks

FWIW, some older iRiver digital audio players have an optical output.

The only option is to use a computer with a digital audio out, or to use the analog outputs from an iPod.

This needs to be an FAQ.
