My old computer crashed and after transfering my music from my iPod to my new computer by exposing the hidden folders the majority of my songs are now labelled with four capitol letters. Come Together by the Beatles is now XUYD, etc. how do i change this?

When you say "labelled" are you referring to the file name of the song, or it's internal tag information?
The names of the song files on the iPod itself will not have any bearing on the actual song tag, as these are named for the convenience of the iPod database. The tag information inside the song file is what is important, and there are a number of tools, including iTunes itself, that can sort this out for you and rename the files according to their tags.
The simplest thing to do, if this is the case, is to reimport all of the songs into iTunes, ensuring that the "Copy Files to iTunes Music Library" and "Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized" options are selected (under iTunes Advanced Preferences). This will import all of the files into iTunes, rename them according to their title, and place them into a directory structure by Artist\Album.
