I've got a 30GB iPod photo/video, had it for about 8 months. Just bought my daughter a Nano. I know there are differences based on the serial numbers on the iPod, but will that prevent me from connecting both iPods to my computer? I have music on my PC that I want to share with her iPod.

You can have multiple iPods for one computer. However, the issue may be whether you want to share the same library with between multiple users with very different tastes and content. Certainly you could do this by manually managing your music updating and keeping separate playlists. And you could have separate accounts and iTunes libraries. However, you might want to take a look at the Libra 2 (http://homepage.mac.com/sroy/libra/) software and see whether this does what you want.
