Quick help plz! =)

I recently just bought an ipod because my friend kept of ranting and raving about how good it is.

SO i decided to buy one and just copy his playlist off his computer onto my ipod because he already had 7 Gbs of songs and videos.

I looked for help because when i tried to add more songs on my computer it wanted to erase the playlist i got from my friend and then add my songs.

I read the sticky (very awesome sticky btw) and changed it to to manually update playlist.

But for song reason when i drag songs from my libary into my ipod icon, it doesnt transfer over.

I can not figure out how to manually add them into my ipod.

SO now i am transfering all of the songs off the ipod onto my computer (another awesome sticky). Doing it as I type this. i plan on changing it back to auto update list.

My question is how do i import 1200 songs into my itunes?

I know u open itunes and import song. But u can only do that one song at a time. and that would take forever.

Is there anyway i can just dump my "My music" folder into the itunes directory?

There certiantly is.

Under the same menus as "Import", there should be an option called "Add Folder to Library...". That's what you want.
