Hi folks

When I try to start iTunes I get the message: "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have permissions for this folder." The only way it will start is if I have the iPod attached. I tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it but the reinstall didn't work as it wanted to point to the non-existent drive E. Only after connecting the iPod would iTunes reinstall. But the iPod isn't mine and I have to return it, so how can I then listen to music in my computer using iTunes?

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

i dont know much about itunes yet because im a new user, however... you can go into C drive> documents and settings> User Name> Application Data> and look for an itunes folder and delete that...

ok i just checked and there is no folder, but after you uninstall your itunes you can go into your program files under Drive C and delete all other remaining data in the itunes folder and try to reinstall itunes. you will lose all saved information and saved properties/ settings you had before but its worth a try.

you can also run a registry clean up program (http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/offer.php?ref=google_registry) after uninstalling itunes to clean up any existing data that may still be contributing to this problem.
