Good Morning everybody.
Could somebody help me out with my problem....

When the earphones / amp connection are plugged in, & i turn the ipod on, it loads the apple logo and a file appears with an "!" in a triangle. Firstly what does this mean??

Second problem, when i connect the ipod to the computer, itunes doesn't detect it, neither does windows explorer. After being connected for about 5 minutes with nothing happening it automatically opens an AutoPlay folder! - itunes still works fine, when i disconnect the ipod, itunes then says i need to update the software either by upgrading or deleting all my stuff off the ipod, if i click on either of those options, it says Ipod cant mount, but it only ever appears straight after i disconnect the ipod, if the ipod is connected it will not let me select which option i want to do.

Please help, i use the Ipod in a bar and if i can't get it to work soon, i'm in big trouble! it's got all the playlists for the bar etc!

The folder with the exclamation point means that there might be a possible problem with your iPod's file system.

Try holding down the MENU and SELECT (the middle button) for around six seconds. Once the screen starts to flicker, quickly press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE and SELECT button to activate iPod's disk mode. Reconnect it to your PC, backup your files, and restore your iPod to factory settings using the iPod Updater.

Thanks for your help, i've just tried what you have advised, but Itunes is not recognising the Ipod and freezers until i disconect it.

also whilst playing the ipod through an amp it may play song 1 in a playlist, then not find song 2, play 20 seconds of song 3, skip song 4, play 40 seconds of song 5 etc etc. in no order or sequence!

As i'm writing this reply Itunes has just recognised the Ipod...... the only different thing i have tried from the above responce is drain down the battery till it has no power left then when connecting it, it starts to charge via the PC.

Thanks very much hopefully this has worked!!
